White tailed deer season opened here this AM and my youngest shot a plump little doe with my old Ithaca 37 with Hastings cantilever heavy slug barrel mounted with Bushnel scope. Made a 70 yd broad side shot with Lightfield slugs.
I had a doe 25 yards from me this evening and could not get a shot through the brush with 44 magnum DEP. rather than risk a wounded deer, I let her walk. Did'nt spook her so she should be back tomorrow.

TCknight, there was that year that I put down vacation for every Friday during deer season. (Company policy being that if you have vacation on Friday you don't have to work the weekend.) Boy, that pissed some folks off.
I'm thinking that I should tell them that I can't work weekends due to my new religious beliefs. I'm joining the Church of Ted Nugent...

There is a small hole in your theory....... it's dark by about 5:15 here in the north country.
And they know their safe on the road.
Next time I take the truck in for an oil change I'll have a gun sight put on the hood.

I haveta play inside the rules as the area I live in had a problem for a while with people that didn't like rules. Around here ya never know when the Warden will crawl out from behind a bush.
