Well I'll be damned...I seem to be dealin with a bunch that have been into the Christmas cheer a way bit too much.
Seeing as how you are on here. I have a question that I (and it's rare, I know) don't have an answer for. A friend of mine just brought me a military head stamped .30-06 (9/40/N/C or C/N/9/40). Someone loaded it with 46 grains of IMR3031 and topped it off with a 170 grain Speer FN. The same one used in a .30-30...Any ideas???????????????????????????? Bullet is seated to an OAL of 3.072...

Hey Walt...When you wear one out and buy two more...Buy me one too...
Just another poor boys opine...
Bushmaster, I'll do it, but you'll have to be happy with a .458 of some kind. I guess I'm just stuck on 45's.
Dallan, thanks for the info as I didn't know about the 60,000 cup metal melting point.
1895SS, I don't think they understood why you don't need a 308. Maybe you should take them to school on the one shot stop 1895SS.
Garret ammo for my 45/70 has a cup of 35K so I should be ok for a few years. At 60 the throat should outlast me. I plan to have mine "Taylor Throated" anyway to allow entry of the wide meplated rounds from Garret and Buffalo Bore. Any Opines guys??
