Sounds like you're ready to go. I've thought about buying a bolt action 22, but never found one that I liked the feel of. The only .22 I have is an old Ithica lever action, single shot, that I got for Christmas in 1966. It's well worn, but shoots well, although a little slow when firing off the second round. I just don't get in a hurry and make sure that the first shot counts.
Good luck with your new 22.
Cary

Update. Got the Win Mod 290, finally, today. For some reason I always get "delayed" by NICS. Still haven't figured out why, but oh well. Plan running it through its paces Friday.

The wood looks great very nice grain. If it shoots as good as it looks it should do fine

Beautiful piece of work. Always nice to see quality wood on a rifle. Have fun!

Very nice Winchester Bushmaster, have fun with it! You dont see wood like that on a 22 very often.

I've been so busy hunting for reloading components, inventorying what I have, installing my new press and adapting it to suit me, ordering what I couldn't find for the reloading room (found and pruchace about 85% of what I was looking for). That the only shooting on the new .22 was to scare a raccoon. I had completely tore the rifle down and thoroughly cleaned and inspected it. Lubed and reassembled it. Loaded 7 rounds. It missfired on the first round and fired the 6 remaining rounds with no problems. I reloaded the faulty round and it failed to fire again. Loaded it a third time and it fired. Suspect a defective .22 round in that the priming compound wasn't all the way around the rim. That happens. The firing pin was making normal indents in the rim...
I plan to put it though its paces tomorrow...I'll let you know then.
