While doing some internet surfing I found this picture at this site:
www.quarry.nildram.co....ssault.htm

The 5.2mm Mondragon( third from left ) has a internal piston.
If anyone is into odd and or military cartridge history check it out !!!

Thanks for the references.. very enlightening indeed.

One question came to mind.
What woudl they do if there is a missfire on caseless ammo? no extractor no ejector on the rifle..

if caseless ammo really came into the play, then all this old micro stamping can be relised because there wouldnt be any reloadings.

Not really the brass case itself is supposed to be "microstamped", the individual bullets cannot be stamped and expect to survive the expansion/fragmentation of the round.

But I'd imagine you could still roll your own at home if everyone went caseless. However the cost of the caseless rounds factory or home made would be too high. Additionally there are alot of problems with caseless ammo hence why it never went anywhere.

Dimitri

The latest incarnations of microstamping include having individual projectiles marked.
The antis will posit ANYTHING to promote their agenda whether it is currently attainable or not.

The guy who runs the Quarry.Nildram site is probably amongst the most knowledgeable experts on military small arms ammunition alive today.
