OK...now there's a visual far more disturbing than the armadillo pictures!

[quote="hunterjoe21"So would you kill 'em or not???
Or do they hafta get into your "yard' before you kill one??
hogs are a nuisance there, do you eat every one you kill??
what about javelinas??? You like the ranch teaming with them??[/quote]
Joe,
I do not hunt for armadillos, nor do I kill them if they are digging in the yard. That's just my choice. The same reason I don't kill horn toads or the desert tortoise.
Hogs are a nuisance here, that's for sure. I kill them and eat them, or give them to people who will eat them.
I do not hunt javilinas, although we do have a large population. They do not bother my ranch and I do not like to eat them.
I love to hunt, but I manage game like I do cattle. Just yesterday, I ran an irrigation pipeline down to fill a cattle tank with water that had gone dry, just to provide water for wildlife. I also have wildlife feeders set up that feed year round.
I believe that as a rancher/landowner, I have a moral obligation to care for wildlife, just as I would my cattle; to treat them with care and respect just as I would my cattle.
That's my personal choice.
Cary

I'm told that groundhogs can be good eating. After all, they are eating the same stuff beef cattle eat. 'Course I haven't tried one yet... |

From the movie Pulp Fiction...

Thank you Vince...
Dang! I'm sorry that you're not allowed to shoot ducks. This may be a dumb question but, may I ask why?
