I stand corrected Mr. Bushy.
Without reloading, I couldn't shoot in the first place.
I just picked up 2000 Winchester Large Pistol Primers today, at my local gun shop.
The price was $26.00 a thousand, and I don't see the prices dropping anytime soon.

Joe...I sat down and figured out what it costs to reload .45 ACPusing current prices at Midway. Nothing fancy. Just run of the mill components. Winchester powder (W-231), CCI Large pistol primers (CCI-300) and Reminton bullets (185 grain HP). The cost to reload a box of 50 rounds...
5.5 grains of W-231 per round (275 grains total)=$1.00. CCI-300 primers (50)=$1.50. Remington 185 grain HP (50)=$9.00. Total=$11.50.............
You can load them cheaper using less expensive component, but......

I don't want to one up Bushy Joe, but this is what I pay at the Wolf's Den Gun Shop by me.
$36.00 per box of 500 Red River 200gr Cast SWC bullets
$26.00 per box of 1000 Winchester Large Pistol Primers.
W-231 powder-$56.00 for a 4# Keg.
Wolf's Den is always cheaper than anybody else around these parts.
You won't go wrong to reload Joe.
It's fun, and saves lots of money, with better results on the range.

So you are planning on her surpassing and "besting" you in shooting.

Why certainly. I'll get old enough that my eyes will give me up to her shooting skills

Bushy,
In the summer I probably passed within 50 miles from you coming back to Canada after visiting Oregon.
I think this year I may just go back to Oregon for vacation.
