Hummmmm,
On that site my date says based on sheet music sales, sounds a bit fishy to me. But I guess it is better than pre recording, cro magnon sounds, as might apply otherwise.
Perry Como: Prisioner of Love
This is odd in that the first 1 million selling record was 1902, 40 years before. In case you are wondering, that record was a recording by Caruso.
Best,
Ed

Sticks on logs? Naw...We had progressed by then and used leg bones on stretched skins...
I think the #1 song when I was born was "Bum-Tum-Tum-Bum" by Ralph and the Tiger Slayers...

It said mine was Rag Mop by the Ames Brothers. I doubt that was the Texas No 1. Down here it was probably something by Bob Wills.
Except for the current generation of punks, we listen to Western Swing or Texas Outlaw music down here, always have.

1895zz...There aren't enough dates on the human calender to go back far enough to get to your birthday...
PaulS...I can tell ya that 1946 just isn't far enough back for me although I will admit that at least there is a calender date for me, unlike 1895zz.

Baby Come Back by Player
Hunh, never heard of them or the song. Guess I was expecting Elvis since it was his first birthday after his death.
I know for a fact this is not what my family was listening to.

I thik, my Mother was singin: "Jänö istui maassa torkkuen, torkkuen.
Mikä sulla jänönen, kun et enää hyppele?
Hyppää pois, hyppää pois."
(What is wrong with you little hare, when you don´t jump? Jump away, jump a way).
