Lester,
American beer can be quite good. As can American Whiskeys.
By the way American's did not change the name from Whisky to Whiskey, but instead in the Scots did not want people to confuse what was then cheap Irish whiskey with their better stuff and dropped the "E". In the US with the Irish influence when Whiskey came over, they kept the Irish spelling but with the strong British/Scottish roots in Canada they used the alternative Scottish spelling.
Personally I got to try a bit more Scotch last Thursday when I went out to dinner with a cute girl. Was pretty good.
As for myself, I picked up a little young thing to keep me warm through the holidays.
A bit younger (less then half the age of the girl I took out)
So shes alittle younger then I'd normally go for to keep around for Christmas but she'll have to do at 15 years old.

Wait for it ....

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 year old single Malt Scotch that I tried for the first time on my date on Thursday.
And here you probably thought I was talking about a girl.
