I got two gun safes...well steel cabinets... and one safe in which I store powder.
Gelan is totally correct. The ba%$#@d gun grabbers, and the idiotic, mongrel bred, weasel gutted EX (thank GOD) Prime Minister that we just got rid of, managed to put in place some pretty draconian laws that have really caused untold grief for legitimate owners of firearms...of course they don't affect the crims who don't give a rat's a%#e about the laws. There is even talk that when you transport a firearm in a vehicle it will have to be in a locked container fastened to the body/chassis of the vehicle, and ammunition is to be in a separate locked container in a different part of the vehicle.
Here in Queensland they have to at least contact you prior to doing a firearms check, but they don't need a Warrant to do it...and if you refuse then say goodbye to your license and your firearms. It is even "dangerous" to say you are unavailable on the day THEY want to do the inspection. I am pretty lucky in that I know 99% of the local Police fairly well, they are a good bunch, because of my work as a JP, but I still must comply. You can't get your missus to do it for you,. If she is unlicensed then you have allowed access to your firearms by an unlicensed person...yep, goodbye license and firearms...and a large fine from the courts.
Lord, save us from imbecile Politicians and moronic antis and gun grabbers.
Cheers, Vince

I forgot..
I have TWO more safes..
They are in my car.
One for the guns and one for ammo.
These are fairdinkum safes - bolted on and padlocked and is made to comply well above the requirements.
I dont want to give those ba5tard any excuse at all to quit me from this sport!!
Vince, the firearms transport law IS already passed on and NOW if you carry your gun in the car, you HAVE to fasten your gun to the car, AND you got to carry your ammo in SEPARATE LOCKED container.
So this is not only a talk but it is a LAW now !! at least it is in the NSW

I have a large Browning, and a very large Ft Knox for rifles. I have one smaller Liberty safe for handguns. My ammo hides in a couple of Sentinal brand sheet metal/ barrel key lock safes.

You are right mate!
sometimes (in a fleeting thoughts mind you) I wondered why I bother.. but then I looked at my surrounding (home, car and work) and I saw what make me happy. I have either pictures of my trips, split dented cases that held some shooting/hunting history and some bronze barrel brushes scattered around me. Yes I am not a neat person, I am definitely on the other end of the scale. Compared to my reloading desk, Bushy's look like operating table. But I am HAPPY.. and I will ensure my happiness to last a long time by hook or by crook. And if this meant that I have to install another safe on my trouser or bolt on my gun to my hands, I may just go ahead and do it to keep on this sport.
I wont give the anti-gun bastards satisfaction that they converted/felled another one. All I can think of is what that Charleston guy said.. "from my dead cold hands" or whatever to that effect.

All my guns are safe - unless you are doin' what ya shouldn't ought to be doin'.
I never had a need for a safe..... The rack is just fine. I can get to them faster than anyone else - and they are loaded.

fireball 3,
Don't take it personal - he was talking about the liberal whiners who want to restrict our rights not those who practice their rights.

Dave.
Please don't take my comments personally,
As Paul said, it's just a commentary on the liberal tendencies of California...I'll not comment any further than that....

I don't particularly like california [politics] either. And I did leave a lot of very good friends in california when I escaped to Missouri...
Stick around Dave (aka Fireball 3). Besides you need to stay in contact so we can warn you in time for you to jump over to Arizona or Nevada when california starts to slip... Just make sure you aren't around Lake Taho when it happens...You might get a little wet...Can you swim?

First of all, I'm sorry if my feathers got ruffled. Alnost evey site I go on they are bashing how bad Ca is. I appologies for getting upset.I've had a very bad week with bad news. To stay on the subject though, I don't have a safe. we live on in an upstairs apt. The one I want though would fall thru the floor. I do have 2-6gun cabinets with security systems in them. All guns have those big trigger locks. The ammo is in a diff room and only I have the keys to the cabinets. I guess I'll hang around for a while. ..Dave
