Rifles could care less about a brand name because brand names have no effect on accuracy. The particular powder recomendations in a reloading manual give you alot of information especially when they make a notation about "Most Accurate Powder Tested". Usually that powder will shoot the best groups in your rifle of that caliber too.
If you said that you liked Hodgdon powders the best your are actually saying that you like ADI Limited powders of Australia or St. Marks Powders of Florida. Hodgdon does not manufactur rifle, shotgun, or pistol powders. They just repackage under their name.
There are only two powder makers that have not found their way to my reloading bench so far and that is Ramshot and VV. Not because they are not great powders, they are, but I just haven't gotten to them yet. So aim for the best powder in your caliber regardless of brand name.

Alliant- RL-15 and RL-7 are two of my favs

Hodgdon- H380 and H4227 excellent metering qualities and make for very accurate ammo in my applications.

Mostly IMR powders in rifles, Winchester powder in shotguns and Alliant powder in handguns. They work well and I am too old to change. All the best...

I use only Hodgdon powders... If they don't have one to fit your cartridge, it doesn't exist.

IMR powders were my favorite but I use ADI almost exclusivly now with a bit of Bullseye and Unique thrown in the mix. I also like Winchester 748 & 760.

I have a sh*tload of powder in my cabinet. Mostly Hodgden and the Reloader series. I, like some of the others have a favorite powder for certain calibers. As well, I have a bunch of powders for my shotguns I load 12 16 20 & 28 gages and the 410.
I just enjoy reloading and of course emptying.
