They say that political organizations are like septic tanks. The really big chunks always come to the top.

My wifes' father used to have one that said "Your s*** is my bread and butter." Local authorities were not impressed.
Saw one in Chicago that said "purveyors of used foods and exotic salads", thought that one was pretty good.

I love the license plate as well! When we were in Florida, there was a septic company that had the same name as my wife's maiden name (not a common name or spelling) - I think she looked over at me and ordered me not to say a word - You have to choose your battles in marriage, I chose to fight another day.

Wise move Wiley! That response is something learned from the school of hard knocks, not something a newly wed automatically knows.
I know this guy that owns a small honey wagon business. He told me that he drives down the railroad tracks to dump his load (I think that's not exactly legal). He said that it's illegal only if you get caught. Anyway, back to the point of the story. He told me that in the area where he's been dumping his load, there are dozens of watermelon plants, cantaloupe plants, and tomato plants coming up all over the place (and well fertilized, I might add). He pulled out a basket from his truck full of ripe tomatoes and asked if I wanted some. I told him that I'd pass; I'm not into eating recycled fruits and vegetables. Yum! Only 40 parts per million of pathogens. Seconds anyone?

I probably shouldn't tell you this but Americans are commonly referred to as "Septics" by members of the British Army.
It's from Cockney rhyming slang: Septic tank = Yank.
Though it might be seen as anti American or rude, it isn't meant that way.
It's almost a term of endearment.
