Well Vince you're not alone. We have all done something like that at one time.
I go northeast of here about 350 miles every fall to hunt Elk. We set up camp and stay in a tent back in the bush about 10 - 15 miles or so(depending how wet and boggy the ATV trails are) for the 8 days we are there. I have all the equipment incl tent, stoves, cooking supplies, lanterns etc. A few years ago I forgot to bring the 20 metal poles that hold up the tent and I got razzed pretty good by my hunting buddies. They wondered how I was going to set up the tent. All I did was cut some small trees and made my own poles. It took a bit longer to set up but it worked just fine. It doesn't take much to hold up a tent when the wind can't get at it because of the thick trees and under brush.

I guess I've forgotten stuff before but I KNOW that I once drove about 4 hours to a large Civil War reenactment and found nobody there. Seems I was a week early...

had been watching a very nice buck on the land i used to hunt. The first morning i was perched in a treestand waiting for him to make his appearance.as i scanned the woods i saw movement,i reached down to throw some rounds in the fun when i realized i had left the bolt on my bench after cleaning it.So there i sat watching this buck pass at 25 yards and i was nothing more than a spectator.a few minutes after he passed i heard a loud boom ,i was the only one who hunted this lease so i went to investigate and what i found sent me off the deep end. There stood one of the morons that my wifes parents had taken in.this kid never took a hunters safety course, never practiced shooting and was borderline retarded, besides i really hated this clown anyway, and now here he stood over my buck.that he had to shoot 4 times because he gut shot him, shot him in the back leg and as he craweled around he tried toshoot him in the head and blew the left antler to a million pieces.and his 4th shot missed by this time the deer had bled out.i was never so mad at anyone in my life not even because he had shot the deer but because he crippled this creature and caused him considerable suffering before he finally died.he then asked if i would gut the deer and drag it down.i simply told him to get f%$&^#

Y'know when I first read the heading and saw that it was by Vince, I thought....well, yeah....and? but check out what I did to myself in this fall's moose season. Screwedup start AND end dates....
Best one I ever pulled for forgotten equipment was a four day hunting trip with me, my partner and three teenagers (my two boys and his step son) No toilet paper, whoops. Everyone came home without shirt tails and shirt pockets, lol.

OOOooooo...no date roll....thats bad There are any number of leaves that you can use for bum fodder, but you have to be careful which one you choose. We have one over here called Gympie Bush...they look so lovely and soft...look just right to "do the job"....has little hollow hairs all over the leaves....the pain and irritation can last for over 12 months !!!
Bushy is totally correct...there are natural bidets everywhere.
Cheers, Vince

Yup...And the springs of the Nortwest Cascades of Oregon are 1 degree warmer then ice. Makes things a little small for a while, but one must do what one must do when one forgets TP...

Sounds about like back home, in the middle of summer heat the water gets up to about a whopping 3 degrees above ice.

Hey, Vince, went to my son's in Va. on Nov 3 rd for muzzloading season, 'bout 400 miles, when I looked in the back of the pick-up for my huntin clothing, guess what? not there. they are in a bag back home in ihe office. GREAT! well a trip to Wally World and 'bout 100 bucks later I have a brand new outfit. trip was worth it, though. in 2 days, 3 shots from an H&R .50 cal 180 gr Hornady sabots 130 grs. 777, netted 2 deer and one nice 15 lb. turkey. I'm new to this board, really like it. diesel.
