I used to watch Jeopardy and laugh at the American contestants try to answer questions about Canada. Personally, I've got a fine, fine reason for wanting to take up residence in the good ol' US of A ....she's holed up in a cabin in the highlands of Montana as we speak. And I think it's a wonderful country and a wonderful area to live in, the American Bill of Rights is one of the greatest documents ever written.

However, if America ever did invade Canada, militarily (the economic invasion has been over for decades) I figure that the war would last....oh maybe 45 minutes considering America's capabilities. The insurrections though...would last forever. We (Canuckistanians) don't quit.

I didn't say "invade" Canada...We would all (Canadian and American) just annex...We would have to invade mexico though...

When you look at history you see that no tyrant allows voting, free press, freedom of religion, or gun ownership. You can prioritize anyway you want, but if you can't vote you are helpless in the political arena, and that gets into everything else.

Yes but generally speaking the right to own firearms is gone before they remove the right to vote and all the other rights a person has as that way you cannot put up a fight agisn't the tyrant

So thats why you in the United States have the 2nd Amendment to prevent that from happening as a attack on the 2nd in a sense is a attack on the first and any and all other rights enjoyed by people in the United States.

Actually the right to vote is what puts people in office who can legislate away our gun rights, or any other rights. Actually we have a bill of rights and I don't think we want to lose any one of them!!!! One of the major hazards here to our rights is the activist judge who thinks he is a lesgislator! When a judge rules by touchy feely instead of by constitutional law we are all in trouble!!!

tracker, i totally agree about insurrections part, personally though i am not Canadian, yet. I would rebel so much, my barrel would probably melt from all the shooting.

in the past the US tried to invade and anex Canada only to be defeated time after another. i am not saying that we could do it again but then again we might if i join the army!

Why invade anybody. Just open the border, give them guest worker permits and after 5 years declare them citizens. Then call for a referendum and vote the other countries out of existance. Ta-Da...
