Well it opened Wednesday , made one trip over yesterday , and one today ..
Very disappointed , the store and all is very nice , but I was hoping to cut my powder , bullets and primer trip from 40 miles round trip to 8 miles round trip ..
Other than that , I like it , prices on firearms are pretty much in line with others , much better selection ..

Give them time they may; or may not do much in the way reloading components, just depends on how they have ordered things and what they "think" will sell. It took them a couple of years to get a few presses and some components into the one here in CB. And te presses and scales and hard equip. just showed up within the last few months.

I would keep asking for what I wanted. If they do not respond, then I would shop elsewhere. Take care...

I have a newer Hodgdon laoding manual that goes into detail what some of the requirements are for storing bulk amounts of powder, and I can tell you it is anything but B.S. There are so many that it can make your head spin and usless you sell or plan to sell literally tons of it it may not be worth "adapting" or making a special room to hold it. I do understand what you mean about it being a bunch of baloney though. However should you and enough "friends" make enough noise about them getting loading stuff in for retail. Then you just might be surprised about that old squeaky wheel getting greased! HA HA HA!!!! Keep on em' you never know what will happen like I said it took them at least a year to even get some cases, powder, primers and bullets, and ammunition storage boxes here at the one in Council Bluffs. Now after almost two years, I think, of the store being open they are starting to carry presses, tumblers, scales and trimmers. Now just waiting on dies. I am thinking it will probably be Hornady(I like them best for handgun rounds.), and or Lyman as that is what they have for presses, trimmers, scales, tumblers and media. As well as case lube. Just keep filling out the card at the exit to the store and hope for the best and tell those "friends" to do the same. I also do not think it is "illegal" to sign with another name. Dirty pool? YES IT IS!!! But this is one time where it will not hurt anyone and just might get the store a little more in the profit margin. HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GJ,
We have one here and I understand that they will get anything in the catalogue for you, into the store, free shipping. SO, if you see what you want in the book or on line, go in and tell them to get it for you, right now. Pay for it and you should be good to go.
I have bought a few things at ours but it appears to be a tourist hang-out here. I drive about 10 miles to a gun shop to do my store business, so they will be there tomorrow. But I buy my reloading stuff through the club/group or on line.

I need to find a good place to buy powder and bullets, and shot for shotgun.
guess its been a while since I have bought anything like this. at wallmart, where I usually get my supplies, thier prices on powder and lead shot just seemed way too expensive.
almost makes it cheaper to just buy the bullets allready made.
but, I like reloading, so, that makes it worth it to me.

Bass Pro here has a nice selection but "ordering" something from them is not wroth the wait, generally you can get guns etc they do not have in stock faster at another store then to wait their 3-4 months.

Ripper,
Drop by your local range and start shooting with a group of guys, if you can. A lot of times everyone has the same problem and as a group you can start buying in quantity.
I was a range master for 22 years and as the range master I orginized a purchasing group for and from our local shooters. Most anyone can do this, all it takes is the shooters and contacting them. I now do the same thing at our Clays range. We order shot shell flats, shot, powder, primers, wads and hulls all on the same truck. Our last order was $17,000.
If you watch, you can buy 12s and 20s on sale for about the same price you pay even on a volume and drop ship discount and even where the shipping is free.

Vince,
Ain't that the truth.
GJ,
I have wondered several times if you were from upper, mid or lower AL. Guess you are from LA.
There have been a couple of guys that have worked in local gun stores named John in the past few years. Most of those stores are closed now, so any of them might be the John you are thinking about. Trouble for me is, as I get older I seem to get them balled up as to name and face. I suspect it is a part of the CRS program.
My dad's side of the family is all from AL, around B'Ham. After my mother died a few years back, he moved back to AL, in the Warrior area, from Navarre.
Sounds like if I mentioned the Green Knight you would know just what I was talking about. What did you do that brought you to our area so often? I take it that you no longer do the same thing?
Ed

GJ,
I lived just off the Okaloosa / Santa Rosa line until 1987. If he is from Navarre with an FFL and has been around for some time, no doubt I know him. There was a John out that way that was a Class III dealer, some years back. Then there was another John that moved to N of DeFuniak, used to work at Gulf Breeze Pistol Parlor with Duke and his son. Then John Robbins worked at Stewarts Outdoor Sports for awhile in FWB. John Robbins is one of those young men that would be bad to run up on in the old west. He is better known in bowling pin circles as "The Kid." He established the world record in pin shooting at age 12. I could write a book about him and his dad Jack. Known the family for years.
Trucker, huh? Interesting, my uncle is the driver prospector for Hornady out of B'Ham. Old man Poole was a customer of mine for 20 years.
I guess you were around after they took the green knight down. Ever eat at Capt. Dave's?

HHMM I was gonna say I think he is/was a class III .. He has a Polock name , starts with a P , red headed and bald ..
Capn Daves rings a bell .. ?? Under the bridge on FT Walton side at Okaloosa Island Bridge ??? I remember the Green Knight come to think of it , but cant place it ..
So then you wud have lived in the vicinity of Bass Pro and old 98 , aint the county line bout mid ways down old 98 ?? Somewhere around CrabTrap area , high rent district ...
