Yepper, Joe, I sure did and I have some more work to do!! I changed over to small rifle primers and now have a group at 150 yds, but need to fine tune my load and see what works the best. As soon as
I get everything settled I will give a report and try to show some target pics.
When I make a change I will use a different target each time to show results of each change. Right now I am using Winchester small rifle primers and 100 grain, by volume, fffg Triple 7. Need to get some other primers to try and see what difference I get. Will also try some heavier powder charges.

I looked at the local W-Mart.....

Loose 777 @ $28.99/lb

Pyrodex @ $24.99

Pelletized 777 100 pcs (33 rnds w/ magnum loads or 50 rnds with standard) @ $26.99

Pelletized Pyrodex 100 pcs @ $23.99

It makes me wonder how many primer/powder/bullet combo's some folks can afford to try ........

I've been shooting 270 gr. Platinum PowerBelts, which are at $23.99/15 (W-Mart has them on "SALE" for $19.99 for their special 12 pack)

Anyway........Lemme know what works for you, It might help to reduce costs associated with 4 ML rifles.......

Sorry it took me so long to get back!!! I am using 777 fff 100 grains equivelant. Come to find out I have a loose stock and need a cheek piece on my stock so I can get onto my scope properly. Once I get those problems squared away I will go for the accuracy load and see what develops!!! Smile

Also need to find the formula for a home brew cleaner that was posted and don't remember the ratio of materials. It uses alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and Murphy's Oil soap. Embarassed

Have made aand used the stuff all ready, but did not write it down and forgot the formula. I will try and print this off and see what happens! I am still trying to get zeroed and think it has to do with needing a cheek piece so I get a consitent sight picture. Hope to get it all cured SOON!!!! Smile

When I went back and re-read this entire thread, one other thing came to mind. I had accuracy issues with my Encores until I replaced the hinge pins with slightly oversized ones. The factory units are designed for easy removal, and as such, allow some "give" at the CRITICAL barrel to receiver joint. Any variations in pressure applied to the cheekpiece will impact POI dramatically. I believe your ML is also of the "break-action" design, so you may want to check for any "slop" at the point where the rifle hinges.

Edited with this after further thought:

My rifle rest is of the 2-point ("Y" yolk front and "U" yolk rear)contact type (Outer's Varminter). I suppose that some of the flex could be eliminated by using sandbags that support more of the rifle, or by switching to a higher quality rest.
