Being a dumb s.o.b., some time back I bought a laser sight for a pistol so's I could hit things at ridiculous distances. BIG mistake! At the time of buying, I let my wallet rule my head. I forgot the basic principle that stops us going around with torches during the daytime - YOU CAN'T SEE THE BEAM!! Big surprise? Not really, just didn't think about it at the time. I fitted the laser on the trigger guard on my Sheridan CO2 pistol and aligned it in my hall/kitchen to give me pinpoint accuracy at 15 yards - which it did. I could put one hole in a target with five shots! Went outside in the garden to look for likely pigeons, etc. and found one in one of my trees. Up went the pistol, on went the laser, WHERE'S THE DOT??? Gone! Have you ever tried to see a laser pointer dot in daylight? DUH! It's absolutely amazing in the evening and at night when you can't see what you are looking for, I could knock a bird out of a tree from the hip - if only I knew where it WAS in the tree! SOoo, if you are ever contemplating getting a laser sight............... Don't! I know where you can get one for nothing!
Del.

And trying to hold one steady on the target is ny-on-to imposible. The longer you try to hold it on target the more it wavers around. Neat new fangled toy with little use except in an indoor range and I don't frequent any. Iron sights or a light gathering scope is still the best way to go.
Did enjoy your rendition though, Delboy....L O L

I think I would be in the same boat as you, I wouldn't have though about not being able to see it in the day light.

You'd have problems with the fog and rain anyhow. Just buy a cheap ($80) copy of a Holosight. Turn it on, turn up the brightness until you can see it in your light conditions. Put the dot/crosshair/circle on the target, put trigger, say gooodbye to target.

Nice idea Grimel, trouble is that we don't get copies over here. Only thing available is Bushnell's one. U.S. price for standard kit is $252-00, the G.B price for the same thing is $677-24. Hmmm......... Guess why we don't buy fancy shit over here?????????? Y'all should take a look at some of our English gun sites and check out the prices for bits and ammo - IF you can find a site that will tell you without you having to contact them for details. You are sooo lucky on that side of the pond..........

If it's going on your air pistol, Daisy makes one for the air guns. It's not as nice/fancy/sturdy as the others, but it's $15 over here. I haven't tried it yet.
I could look for a copy at the next couple of gun shows if it's possible to send something like that via the mail.
