What kind of torque wrench? Mine adjusts at the end of the handle filled with solder. No dial. It breaks when the set torque is reached.

Breaks or "clicks" the same. The calibration adjustment is in the handle as stated above. Not sure what Snap-on uses to seal the adjustment, but it should be the same as mine.

Why does it need calibrating?
Have you checked it and its wrong, or has boredom set in?

You can check it by putting an extension in a vice and cranking it down tight. Then put the torque wrench in the extension, and "pull" on the handle via a cheap luggage scale. It works pretty good. Other than that, I'd let the snapon folk do the calibration if its really off.

I've got a bit of snap on stuff but wouldn't buy any more My personal opinion of it is its expensive crap. I've gone to koken their gear leaves crap on for dead the ratchets are the best I've used and I've been in the game for 40+ years. This torque wrench isn't very old and has had little use. No way ill be supporting snap on again. Even my sidchrome stuff I started my apprenticeship with has outlasted the snap on...

45 years as a heavy diesel mechanic (ship's main propulsion and auxiliaries)...S&K Wayne have been my choice. Like you, I still have many of these from my apprenticeship starting in 1959. My torque wrench is made by Utica Tools. I've had it for over 30 years and is still accurate.

sussed it today. there is an adjuster under the end cap that you flick off with a screwdriver. just need a bit of uninterrupted time to have a play with it now..
