Saw fresh snow on the mountain tops this morning. Air is getting crisper. Seems strange after our record breaking run of 100F days. Fall is coming fast, gotta get on with those honey do's and other maintenance I've been putting off due to the heat.

Snow's a rarity here these days, despite being at 54.5° N.
"Temperate climate" really does sum up this part of the UK, as daytime temp's rarely go either side of 40-70°F & frosty nights are a rarity - maybe 10 in a year.
I've seen more snowfall in Albuquerque in the last five years than I've seen here in Blighty.

It was 97F in the shade at the range yesterday. My load development went south on me as what worked just fine at 76F a couple of weeks ago, popped a primer on me (temperature sensitive powder was the cause).

We already got a touch of snow on the blue mountains too. I don't want to believe we are in for another winter like last year but I got a new heater core in the wife's car and winterized it. I have two sets of mounted studded tires waiting to be installed if necessary.

Not looking forward to the coming summer heat.
Just installed 6 kW worth of solar panels here to run aircon in my warehouse.

You ain't kidding. I can't believe how fast it's cooled off. It's been 20F cooler than normal the past few weeks, hitting low 50s instead of 70's. My wife and I took an Alaskan cruise a few weeks back and had gorgeous weather in Alaska (save Ketchikan, but it rains 300 days a year there so...). We returned home to find it a fair bit colder here than anything we experienced in SE Alaska.

I am jealous of the Alaskan cruise. I love Alaska. Been to Ketchikan lots of times, 2nd-3rd week in August is usually quite dry and nice. Maybe the only weeks out of the year LOL!
Weather made for a fun ML hunt in the snow. I tagged out opening morning and my boy did the same the next evening. Blood trails in snow are a rare thing during the ML season hehe.

Yeah, we got a good deal since it was the last cruise of the season (for Holland America, there was 1 more the following week for Norwegian). It was less than $1500 for the two of us for 7 days (not counting airfare and excursions). Many of the shops had things 50-75% off since they close down after tourist season ends. Except for the rough waters the first two nights it was an awesome experience.
You doing a write-up of you and your boys ML hunt?

I wasnt going to do a writeup as it was fairly boring. Opening morning I ran into a batchelor herd at 50 yards and shot the only one to stand broadside, a 18" wide 2x2. That night my boy blew a stalk on a nice heavy 20" 3x3. The next night we ran into a very small buck, I said "I dunno if you want to take a poke at him or not.... *BOOM*" LMAO, he drilled it and then shouted "I AM SLEEPING IN TOMORROW!!!!"
haha too funny.
We went out last night as that storm front blew in and got right in the middle of elk and a blizzard. Elk were very vocal with herds on both sides of us. Snow made it hard to see more than about 200 yards.
With hard to see visibility due to the snow and fogging scopes, he hit a nice cow (just a little low, but we didnt know it at the time). We split up 100 yards apart (we had the mentor tag thing) and covered two different escape routes, the cow came out on my side and I put her down for good with the old 7STW. Then the work started. I made him clean it, with a little help when he got stuck. Getting it up in the truck took way too long due to the snow making things slippery. We eventually got her in and the atv in and strapped down. Dropped her off at the butcher this morning. I can barely walk today... sore sore sore!
3/4 tags filled, 1 tag left... wifes rifle deer in a few weeks.
