My old Mossberg 12 ga started it's life as short barreled pistol grip gun. They suck to shoot, but are very effective.

Vince,by the time I find my keys, unlock the cabinet, get out shotgun, remove trigger lock, go to ammo box, remove a few rounds and then load them........ effectiveness for home defence is a moot point..if the bad guys have bad intentions we will be body bag material long before we are armed....
and having owned and used short shotguns (790mm so 28mm over legal minimum) they do suck....yip they work and work well, but you have no swing, sight radius,or hearing left after fireing....I hate to think how much of my hearing damage was caused by the short time we used that gun....and they are a real recipy for developing a wicked flinch.
give me 24-30" of barrel for the 12 ga.

This is my wardrobe from eyes open to eyes closed. I wouldn't have it any other way.
You can have the "short shotties"

I agree that a standard pump shotgun with a 20-inch barrel works well for me. All the best...

There is a 12 ga double-barrel "coach gun" leaning against the wall in the bedroom, loaded with buck & ball.
