We're looking at a full week of +100s starting Monday. Got a roofer going to replace my worn out roof... starting monday. I wished him good luck LOL! No way in heck do I want to get up on that oven and attempt it.

Hows the humidity in Missouri Bushy? At least its generally super dry out here, less than 15%.

Friday I took day off work and spent it sitting under a scraggly plum tree in middle of paddock about 500 yards from where my work truck is parked in shed. managed to shoot 5 parrie ducks and had a ball doing stuff all, bro in law kept me company and slung s bit of steel towards ducks too. Nugget did'nt have much to do but got away from the cat for the day.
today we spent the day in company of my older ex deer culling mate and another really good mate who we normally only see once a year. the fallow deer weren't co operating (only one I saw stopped once at about 300 yards and with the wind blowing I couldn't connect with the .223 had a bloody good look even though was sure it was a miss, Meg wasn't even interested so no carcass there. we managed to shoot about 15-20 wallabies and a few hares so day was a blast. Meg behaved herself so it was a good day out on the hill.

All in all, a magnificent couple of days Elvis. Couldn't ask for anymore than that mate.

I don't envy your roofer one iota mate. Working on a roof...corrugated iron, concrete tile or terracotta tile...would be just downright bloody terrible in 80 degree heat let alone 100 degrees. He will certainly earn his money mate.

Not too bad Mr. Dallan. Somewhere around 50%...

It’s gone vewy vewy quiet in here again...is evweybody hunting wabbits?

Speaking of wabbits...I took my 13 yr old grandson on his first hunt last weekend. Saw plenty of rabbits, but because I decided he was doing all the shooting we came away with only one rabbit, but that’s ok because he has only ever shot on the range, and then only a couple of times. He was over the moon when he tapped the rabbit, so excited, it was great.

Only downside was me picking up a bloody tick. It must have climbed onto my t-shirt when I dropped it on the ground. Damn thing fastened onto me right in the V of my neck. I managed to get it off, but it had been there for a little while so it was well attached. I got the head out, but now I have a rather sizeable lump under the skin...about the size of a quarter...so methinks I may have an infection. Time to visit the Dr. I can’t believe how these parasitic beasties are attracted to me...mosquitos, ticks, biting flies...they all come straight to me. burr burr

I don't fear the ticks mate...unless it's a paralysis tick as they are just plain nasty and make an adult very sick...the everyday bush tick is just an annoying pain in the butt that, in this case, can cause an irritating infection that necessitates a trip to the Doctor for antibiotics.

Yep, Bushman is great stuff Elvis and it’s my “go to” insect repellent mate. Guess where the only spot was that I didn’t apply it!!

The ones over here can carry Lymes Disease & that's something nobody wants infected with.
