So yeh, kinda stunk up my day with the trash, the mud and what not....but I got to spend time with the new gun so....meh. It's a wash.

Got me one of these a comin' Bushnell 1X MP ....they's rated fer shotty's so....should be OK fer Thumper...I hope.

Good stuff Stovey, and well done on cleaning up after those grubs who dumped their crap and corruption. I always have a look for anything amongst the garbage that can identify the culprit then send pics etc to the authorities. Teach the grotty mongrels a lesson.

As responsible shooter and hunters, I bet we do more good for the environment by acts like these (everyone I know does the "leave it cleaner than you found it" thing) than any other special interest group,ever!

New sight came in, took Thumper to the pit. Got it pretty well O'd for a T-dot sight in a couple rounds. Found a loli-pop gong on a piece of rebar in the weeds someone stashed. Stuck it up on the sloped dirt backstop, popped one round at it from 45y off hand. It took off straight up about 20', flipping like a flap-jack, snapped the rebar like it wasn't there, pill still stuck in 1/4" of steel.....

so, you don't expect a good blood trail when shooting at 1/4 inch steel...
but since it was dead right there you don't need a trail!
Are you gonna take that target home and weld it up for whomever left it there to use?

You need AR500 or harder plate steel for rifle targets, even then you need to be hitting them at 100+ yards. You can find moderately priced gongs on Ebay. I like the 8" mickeys, but also have alot of 4". Even with AR500 you can still see small impact dings (leaves the mildest of bumps).

Gona show it off today, then weld it back up to some rebar I have here for my AR500 gong set then toss it back in the weeds- with the .50 cal pill still in it! Heheheheh....

Get my 3/8" 500's from Sub-MOA. Use gas pipe for the frame, 5/8" rebar legs. Hang the plates with 3/8" rebar, bullets glance off if not directly shot at.

300Mag @ 100y? Not even a scratch. Makes cool splat marks in the paint, wipe right off with a finger. Gota hit it with a .50 BMG ball at 300y to dent the surface.
