yep, had to turn the sound off. Shiny lead from the bullets coated the impact craters. Berger VLDs might have penetrated.

Years ago I shot some .223 soft points at a piece of I-beam (maybe 5/8" thick and at a 20 degree angle) and was amazed that they went through.

I can believe that, I-beam is not made for impact strength/resistance but for vertical strength, but not knowing what type of steel was used in it's manufacture it would be hard to compare to cold or hot rolled steel. Still for a .223 that's impressive.

I've got some AR 4&500 steel targets. The 400 is 1/4" thick. At 150 yards my 20 cal didn't mark it with 40 grain bullets, but the 32 grain Varmageddon made little divots - naw, more like little dimples. Buddy that made them said it was the extra velocity as the 32 grain are going a little over 4000 fps. Had the AR500 (3/8") set up at 300 yards and the 30:06's just peeled paint
