What a crazy wierd year this is wrapping up to be. Signs everywhere are pointing to fall being a month ahead of schedule.

In our garden, pumpkins were turning orange in the end of July, right now they are full blaze orange and ready to harvest.

Oak brush is turning red, aspen is turning yellow. Few weeks ago I was camping in the high country and the elk were bugling like crazy. Deer are sporting winter coats, I've heard of a few elk being spotted with velvet all rubbed off.

All of this is a month or two ahead of schedule! Then to cap it off, a storm blew through last night and this is what the mountain just south of me looks like:

This is the maple on my front. Started to turn the end of June.

We are still in the throes of winter here...coldest winter I can remember in a long time, and plenty of rain at the moment too.

That mountain looks beautiful...a postcard picture. Break out your winter woolies Dallan, it looks like you might need them soon mate.

My wife has a early season Mt Goat hunt coming up in a few weeks (we will start hunting on Sept 8th), we've been hoping for some early fall weather to get'em haired up good. A weather station near where we are hunting shows a temp of 37 so it looks promising.

Its all still a month early... feels really wierd. Usually in my state August is the only month of the year to not get snow. I like winter, but I'm not ready to give up a upcoming lovely fall too soon.

Cold my arse, it still makes 20+ deg C by lunch.
Went down to Canberra last month on a motorcycle.
That confirmed what I remembered about living down there, which is why I'm happy living up here.

True enough Pete, although with this rain it has been a lot cooler than that during the day around my place.

Canberra on a bike at this time of year...you would have been shiverin' like a dog crapping razor blades mate. I spent a few days in the bush just east if Stanthorpe a week or so ago...now that was cold.

Old Farmers Almanac says its gonna be colder this winter than last. And last winter is the coldest I can remember, and I'm almost 50. We had Ice, sleet and snow for several days here in Florida. Not just once either, several times. Global warming my butt.

I guess its going to be extreme weather all around..
coldest winter, warmest summer, driest dry season and wettest rainy seasons..
Its going to be interesting.

Though the US has had a mild (cooler summer), I've heard reports that this was the 4th hottest summer on record for the World.

I've also heard that climate change proponents have admitted that Global Warming has decreased.

Yeah, I can hardly wait.
It was 25 deg c here today again, can hardly wait for the full 42 to 47 deg C days to cut in just like last summer.
We dont have an emoticon to cover what I really think about that.
9 months of the year is near perfect here, the other 3 are somewhat less perfect.
Hey Vince am I a local after 23 years, I'm certainly starting to sound like one.

Gah.. it is 15 C right now in Sydney.. and raining buckets .. 50 mm (2 inches bushy!) in 4 hours last night.
