I was in a gun shop today and saw an unfired .50 cal. Lyman Deerstalker flintlock on the used gun rack cheap. What a nice muzzleloader. Despite a desire to take it home, I left it there. Later, I called the shop and asked them to set it back for me. The shop owner really wants to sell it and discounted the already low price ( to 75 percent below list price). I will be glad when it's time to cut grass and I will not get to the gun shops as frequently. All the best...

Cool Great rifle, pick it up would be my recommendation. My first flinter was a Lyman Great Plains, the only things I did to improve ignition was to open up the flash hole slightly and to use some Kasinint on the frizzen to improve the sparking. After that if you had your back turned you could not tell if it was a flint or percussion being fired. It was that fast, took many competitions away from percussion shooters:):):):):):):):):) Cool Cool Cool Cool
