I just got my old Remington 870 back from having it Cerakote finished...

This is what the 50+ year old "Lightweight Wingmaster" looked like before I had it coated...

This is after I added an aftermarket stock set...

I took off the plain barrel and installed a 30" vent rib magnum barrel before I had all of the metal work coated...

Okay guys, what do you think?

Very nice DS. The Cerakote finish looks great...when done properly (unfortunately here in Australia there are some that don't do the process as well as it should be done).

Is the "bead blasted" finish part of the coating, or was the gun bead blasted first then coated, giving it the matte look?

I am considering getting some of the "dip and coat" camo process for my Weatherby Vanguard, but that Cerakote finish certainly has me thinking.

Looks great.

I see that it guarded by the trainee security puppy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments...

Elvis - no, I did not keep the wood. I mighta shoulda but, I didn't...

Vince - the barrel and receiver both were bead blasted before being coated. I have used other "coaters" in the past but, I was always sadly dissapointed. The finish looked bad, the metal was not properly prepared before the coating was applied, as well as other problems and headaches...

I finally found someone that took pride in their work, did professional work and was someone I could trust enough to have my customers send their work to him...

I hope you can find someone like I finally did, that will do a good job for you, so you can be proud of your gun when you get it back...

I shot 100 rounds through my gun shooting trap, before I took the pictures and as you can see, there are no wear marks on the slides or bolt....
