Now Paul you know that you can not identify the origan of a sound on the first one. It takes at least two bangs to locat it. How long have you been hunting the Cascades anyway.

Bushy, With my ears I could tell you for sure where you are standing if I had my eyes closed. Some sounds I hear well with my right ear and some I hear better with my left ear - the others I don't hear at all.

My wife accused my of having "selective hearing" so I went for a hearing test. She was right! The technician said I have a hearing loss in the range of children's and women's voices. I can't hear 1000hz to 4500hz well and nothing in the 5000hz to 6000hz range. Above 10000hz it all sounds the same.
So, If I hear a sound that my right ear picks up better then I will turn that direction.

In a firefight I will have to watch for the muzzle flash. Smile
