|
Been seeing some hog tracks around some water holes lately. So tonight we sat up by one of the water holes.
And boy did they come in! This is two of the four that we got tonight! The big one around 200 lbs. the little one 30 lbs.
Plus one coyote!

I'd love to do that, but what kind of precautions do you take with the meat? I've heard they're prone to lots of desease, so how do you know if it's safe to eat?

Suz, or you have it sampled and analyzed, or you put the meat in the freezer for at least 14 days at minimum minus 18° C (and you translate it to °F ?)

Good shooting there, they just started popping up around this area and I imagine the hog population is high where you are.

Hogs are spreading everywhere. Here in NC its now "shoot on sight". So far we don't seem to have any in my immediate area but when we do I expect to start hog hunting!

It's a blast to hunt them. Night time is better than day. I don't hear that good now days so when I'm out walking at night I have to be really careful so that one don't jump me lol.

vmaster, did you use your 22.250 on these? Head/neck shots? Varmint bullets and hogs usually don't mix well. I shot my last hog with a six8 95 TTSX behind the ear at 100 yards.

Not a dreaded AR is it? GASP!!!
Did you use a light? If so, what kind? We can hunt coyotes and hogs at night now and I was considering putting something like this on my AR >>> www.lasergenetics.com/...nator.aspx

Clint, that light looks promising! What sort of distance are you getting and also how does it work close up?
