OUTSTANDING!! Nothing like a family visit with a little shooting on the side. And caliber of choice would be.......??? Are Roos good to eat? Maybe a Roo Stew?

Roo meat is good to eat so long as you get the right piece. Some of it can be pretty tough. The tail makes a real nice soup or stew.
Of course, like all game meat won from the wild you need to ensure it is free of parasites etc.
Calibre of choice......Weatherby Vanguard in 243 WIN with a 3.5-10 x 45 Nikko Stirling Platinum scope. Would have preferred a Leopold 3-9 x 40 but it was out of reach price wise for me.
Cheers Vince

I'm pretty keen to get my eldest granson out with me, but I'm not sure how his Mother will react to my idea. She is not a lover of firearms and isn't a lover of hunting.
For ideas on kangaroo cooking have a look at this site:

Gidday Jack. I'm in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia mate. I'm not on any other hunting forums or sites.
Leaving the ammo ain't so bad, at least you can buy more....but leaving the bolts behind (like I did) is a real pain in the butt. Nothing you can do about it.

Uhmm...Bolts, BOLTS....Did I mention don't forget the bolts? Not that it would happen ever again, right?
Of course, if the better half were left at home, she could overnight them to you. or you could leave the key to your house and liquor cabinet to one of your mates, and he could ... Ahh, then again, maybe not... Good hunting!

"BOLTS"!!! Not nuts and bolts, but "BOLTS" for rifles. Now that THAT's settled. Don't forget the "RIFLES" that the "BOLTS" fit...
Just a suggestion from a friend...
By The Way...Spears and knives have less moving parts to forget...

Vince, don't forget to put powder into your reloads............ |
Thanks for the reminder mate....don't want to forget that, although I've already done my reloading......damn you've got me thinking now ......did I check each one for powder before seating the projectile? Better weigh each one to make sure. Pull the "light weights" to check for lack of powder. Maybe I better pull them all to be on the safe side.
Ok, now for a checklist:
Check List for Hunting;
Tent, Food, Bedroll,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Light, Toilet Paper,BBQ plate,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Boots, Beer, Knives,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Garbage bags, Chair, Axe
Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Hand Towel
Rifle Cleaning Gear
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Vince Cleaning Gear
Coffee, Mug, Plate,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Port wine, Rain Jacket,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Map, Compass, Strobe Light,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Rifles, Bolts, Ammo,
Ok, shouldn't forget anything now....I hope.
I'll add to the list as necessary. Can't be too careful, only got a few monthsbefore I go.
Cheers, Vince
