This looks like a big one. I checked out the generator to make it sure it's good and filled up the gas cans. I hope it's not as bad a they say it's gonna be. It looks like it's gonna run right over me . Any members on the East Coast I hope you fair well through it....

The media sure is (pardon the pun) blowing this thing up. Looks like we'll only catch the fringes here. Batten down the hatches Joe and keep us posted when you can.

Good to be prepared, the newspapers and weather channel is labeling this as "Frankenstorm", if this is a ploy on the upcoming halloween than than pretty sad. Keep us posted Joe.

My generator is filled and I have 35 gals. of gas on hand. The power goes out a lot around here so I've been through the drill. I have two blades sharpened for the chain saw just in case a tree comes down. I took a look at the roof today and cleaned the gutters out. I also cut the lawn nice and short so if we get a good blow the neighbors can help themselves to my leaves. It looks like the temperature will drop next week and though I've already had to listen to a lot of complaints about the cold nights, I haven't lit the coal stove yet this year. It looks like I may have to break down soon though.

We expect to see it on Monday or Tuesday. The panic of the masses are more of a concern to me than the actual storm. Go to the National Weather Service for accurate updates. The National Weather Service is not allowed to hype the weather. All the best...

You mean like this from our local TV station?
"The late-season storm will team up with an approaching cold front and upper level energy morphing the tropical moisture into a very large hybrid storm that will affect millions of people in the northeast US. We expect heavy, flooding rains (preliminary 4-8" of rain with locally higher amounts possible)."

There is one positive to all this. Maybe some of us can catch up to you on the number of deer harvested.
May your feet stay dry my friend.

Keep safe. We are not in the path this time but the NW Atlantic low is solidly over us just now. Fog is so thick you could use it as a bullet stop. I know some areas have had a lot of rain this year and they will have problems holding a lot of water. You seem prepared but so many are not. Bet the grocery stores are doing booming business.

I just got a call to come in to work at 2am Monday. I work for a transit railroad along the coast of New Jersey and they have announced they'll be shutting down service for Monday. They have us coming in to trouble shoot and protect equipment. Should be a heck of a show just a few blocks from the ocean!
