I have to wonder if these elected people think before acting.
"Cook County Illinois President Toni Preckwinkle wants to introduce a "violence tax" on guns and ammunition to help plug a $115 million budget gap in 2013. Under the tax, guns and ammunition would cost more."
Chicago Sun Times

More stupidity from a politician...
I know, lets pass a CRIME tax! Every time someone is found guilty of a crime they are taxed $1000. Chicago would be rolling in money in no time!

Interesting how many Democrats are on board with this idea. I have a friend that swears they aren't going to mess with gun laws, but then the Democrats seem to swear they "aren't" going to do a lot of things they do. Rest assured this isn't going anywhere, the gun lobbyists have taken charge. If Toni wants to be a 'real' man, (and she sure looks like she does) she should talk to a few gun owners and a few criminals about guns and gun laws. So many government bodies seem to be fast on the solutions without any experience in the trenches (and probably don't have very good social skills) and they think they're the great troubleshooter. They've got a job to do but there's no manual on how to perform the job, so they wing it. If I went to an aircraft manufacturer and signed up for a job as a quality control inspector (I did work on aircraft in the Navy) and got the job, you think they'd just let me loose with just some idea of how to go about it? You have to qualify! How does Toni qualify?
Preckwinkle was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, moving to Chicago to study at the University of Chicago in the Hyde Park community area, where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees. (Probably in sports, she just needed a degree) After college, Preckwinkle spent ten years teaching history in several high schools in the Chicago metropolitan area, including Calumet High School, the Visitation School, and Aquinas.[1] In 1985 and 1986 Preckwinkle was President of the Disabled Adult Residential Enterprises (DARE). Preckwinkle has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, Political Action Director of the Near South Chapter of the Independent Voters of Illinois (IVI-IPO).[1] During and after her 1987 aldermanic election campaign, she worked as a planner for the Chicago Department of Economic Development. (That's presidential stuff right there) By 1990, she had become executive director of the Chicago Jobs Council, and become allied with civil rights attorney R. Eugene Pincham.
There is also a note about being married to a Caucasian (God forbid). They have two children. Her husband is Caucasian, which at times has been a campaign issue. (Freekin whities) It actually doesn't say anything about her ethnicity.
So anyway yes she qualifies for a govm't job and she knows all about gun owners and gun violence (handguns are very violent). She's also a planner and that's gotta get some credits, hell the only qualification Obama has is city planner/organizer so I guess she's qualified and she has master's degree in something. Mostly she's qualified to be a complaint department supervisor and maybe person to go to about gettin a job or some govm't moneys. She's been there done that. Experience counts! I think I'd change my name, Preckwinkel? Toni? Thought it was a gay guy when I saw her picture, I was expecting to see a guy......a guy with a preck. Turns out she's a girl with a winkle.

There's yer problem. Tax the perp, not the person buying ammo to practice with a firearm due to the denutting of the LEO's you dipwad!
The twtittberry pictured below is part of the problem, not the cure!

Typical cockeyed liberal scheme! Murder has risen 25% because the lame Cook Co. politicians can't get their own act straight so of course lets levy taxes on those law abiding citizens that are attempting to defend themselves against those same murderers. Make the tax high enough to keep guns and ammo away from those citizens and maybe they can get that murder rate up 50%. Nit wits!!!

The fact she married a white guy is a problem eh?
How about the fact that she appears to be a half breed herself in the first place. That isn't a problem?
But that is typical in the US, Obama is mostly white due to his mother, and mostly Arab on his father's side, but people still think he is black.
