Sweet looking pump gun Stovey...wish we wuz allowed them.
The Mossberg shotgun I like is the 695 (see pic below). It has a three shot internal magazine and a synthetic stock. Very easy to carry and points beautifully (for me).
The one that I had use of for a wee while had the sights removed and a variable choke fitted...just a matter of screwing a collar in or out over a set of fingers to adjust the choke. Worked a treat.
Cheers, Vince

That mossy has some nice furniture on it, very nice.
Vince, I haven't seen a bolt operated shotgun in a coons age, I like the variable choke, I have one on my H&R pump and if I'm not mistaken they called it the poly-choke at the time.

Vince, I recently saw that there was a recall on some of those 695s.

Oh- another thing I forgot to mention- the inside of the reciver on this model was very, VERY nicely done. It's as smooth and silk, high-polish with a nice layer of something black/blue on it- anodizing maybe? Very smooth inside so I'm careful during t/d and rebuild. Pretty impressize the amount of attention they gave to the inside of the reciever. A lot of pumps ya take them apart and it's pretty cobby in there. This looked like someone took great care to make it nice. On a sub-400$ gun that's pretty rare.

How much longer do you think it will be before California outlaws you prized new possession?

Speaking of- during squad changes people grab the wrong gun from the rack, a lot! So I made some laminated lables for the fore arms of my clays shooters...pop one of these on and problem solved.

Do you see many Mossberg 500s at a trap range?

Sure not so many with "TANK" written on it, it helps to imagine a very big and strong owner...
