Sex is the leading cause of life and life is the major contributor to death.

Then the plan is to prevent death from driving, speed limits will be 5 kph and they will fix the unemployment problem by hiring people to walk in front of cars with red flags and a whistle.

Heck, if saving lives is what it's about ban the automobile! It surely kills more people each year than the guns that are in the hands of law abiding citizens. The whole problem with that idea is that it isn't about saving lives. Our guns, our Second Amendment rights are about being able to defend ourselves against tyrants in an unjust government and unfortunately the tyrants know it.

Even the most ignorant person has to know that every creature on earth defends itself and its territory. What make us so different from the rest of the animals? (that causes us to believe we can't defend ourselves)

The police are responders. They respond to crimes either in progress or in most cases crimes that have already been committed and it's too late for the victim. They'll be the first to admit that they can't protect you 24/7 and it's unreasonable to assume they can. We need to do for ourselves.

there is nothing wrong with police responce times. they are what they are.
it is our unrealistic expectations that are the problem. try living in the backblocks some where and you will change that pretty quick, to see an officer in under a week is good, in the same day is fantastic, in an hour??? nah mate your dreaming

It is an unfortunate fact of life that Police are a REACTIVE force (or in our case Service) instead of being PROACTIVE. The reason, I believe, for this is all of the crap that the do-gooders, the bleeding hearts, the civil rights groups and the legal fraternity have forced upon the Police.

Compounding the problem are the Government "bean counters" who constantly look for ways to reduce Govt spending whilst at the same time looking for ways to justify their increases in salary and pensions.

I am not trying to say there is anything wrong with the police or their response times - just that you should be willing and ready to defend yourself.
If plants and animals do it then we should be able to also.

Agree wholeheartedly Paul...that is the primary human right...the right to defend oneself, self defence.
