I'm probably just getting old, but I've noticed the 5th column has really being going downhill.
Half the news we get fed over here is just advertizing, the other half is crap;
These 2 are stirling examples of modern bullshite peddled as fact.

News got flavored as the reporter wrote them.
Some are prejudices, some have not a clue and some are hopeful.
Either way it is how they interpret it.

My Dad, an architect, used to get interviewed by the media every so often about building projects he was doing for the local school systems. He said that he was almost never correctly quoted. Two of the three times I was interviewed about Civil War reenactments I'd helped organize they didn't come close to reporting what I'd actually said.
