FN, I'm not understanding simply because that bullet only measures .991 in OAL ........ please explain further !!!
As far as the neck length goes the standard .250 should be .274, I suspect the AI to be slightly different.

No, CALIBER specific data.
.308 Win, .250AI, are calibers.
A Cartridge is an assembly of components.
A Caliber is what your gun is chambered for.

Agreed.
But, a cartridge is nothing without the "chambering" or "caliber's name".
In most circles I know the cailber refers to the gun's chambering or "cartridge name" and that's derived from many factors.
Argh...I give up.

Strange, I tought a 'caliber' was somekind of device to do quality control in a workshop. To measure if a hole or a thread is within specs... usualy they come as twins: a 'go' and a 'no-go'...
still confused?

Are you disputing that a 38 special is actually a .35 caliber ???
