And one more proof Australia is blocking websites. Here

Since Australia is now using content blocking by orders from the big brother, a lot of web sites will be off limits to the people in Australia. This started in 2010 and will only get worst.

Now thats one thing I have not yet heard of.

I believe predator simply did not update their DNS registration, rather than censorship.

Mate, it has been PROPOSED and PLANNED, but it has not yet being IMPLEMENTED.

I agree it is suck to get internet contents censored, that is why all the andger and uproar over the PROPOSAL.

By the way this is the WHOIS look up result for Predator

======================================
REGISTRY WHOIS FOR PREDATORPROJECTILES.COM.AU

No Data Found

Information Updated: Mon, 14 Feb 2011 22:01:07 UTC
PREDATORPROJECTILES.COM.AU SITE INFORMATION
Website Status: inactive
Alexa Trend/Rank: 3 Month: 16,658,520
Page Views per Visit: 3 Month: 1.0
======================================

What this meant is that the domain name www.predatorprojectiles.com.au is NOT registered.
This is NOT censorship, but is of other reasons such as economy or plain lazyness.

I would be the first to blame and bitch for any grievance towards the government,
but I would not likely point a finger unless I am certain that the proof is irrefutable.

Here is where you can query for AUSTRALIAN (.AU) domain names.
You can find out the name of owner, the expiry date registered office address etc.

hey gelandangan,

I agree it's bs, and hopefully common sense will prevail. My question is that why in the world would the govt even think or attempt such an action? I hope censorship for the internet never goes thru for any country as it is wrong.

thats a plurry strong statement that I feel needs a tweeking.
I personally would love to see some stronger internet sensorship, child porn would be a hell of alot harder to traffic if big brother would put blockers in place. the powers that be do thier best with the tools they are allowed but more would be a good thing. IMHO.
YES I relize somethings should not be blocked but others need sensoring at the highest level with a BIG stick to discourage these bottomfeeders.

Back to the rebated boat tails...

How much difference does this make at subsonic velocities and relatively short ranges?

HAHAHA Very Happy
that prove that our attention span is very short indeed..
The original topic is about Lyman Orange Crusher press that I bought last Saturday.
Okay, I was planning to use it to swage some pellets, however it is still a press that I could use to do reloads.
So we wander to projectile types (rebated boat tail), 22lr jacket and government censorship Laughing

Never mind, I am happy to wander as required.
Sticking to one topic is so.. ah.. boring..

Pumps,
At short ranges, the effect will be very minimal, however, the Whisper caliber is designed to do both short and long distance.
I read that it can be used to consistently knock out steel rams at 500 yards.
That is a good goal to aim for methinks.

Mind you, rebated boat tail is only a side reason I want to do this.
The main reason would be to make me a large gaping hollow point that hopefully will expand on impact at subsonic velocities,
hopefully with great accuracy at ALL distances and have ballistic coefficient of over 1.0 (is is good to have a dream Razz )
So there..

Very interesting geland, quite a few years ago when I first heard about loading bullets backwards, I figured I would give it a try in 38spl. I loaded under 600fps ten each of cast wad cutters and rn, the wad cutters weren't too bad as far as accuracy but the rn, I was lucky to get 2 on paper at 25 yards. From looking at your picture, you wanted to get results like the last picture with the manned spacecraft. But after thinking about it, the manned capsule is already moving, whereas the bullet hasn't even begun to move yet. Back then I assumed that the gases needed a flat base to push the bullet out evenly with minimum wobble. I also thought that with the round nose, the gases might have been uneven and pushed the bullet with more pressure on one side rather then evenly and maybe they wobbled enough and thats why I had only 2 rn hits on paper. I will be on the edge of my seat awaiting the results of your project.

While researching the web on I found this information regarding accuracy and what aspect of the bullet makes the most difference.

From the GS Custom Bullet Website.

When examining bullets for the qualities that will afford one the best chance of selecting a product with which good groups will be highly probable, one must look for uniformity of the following, in order of importance:
a) Bullet base
b) Bullet meplat, ogive and shaft form
c) Bullet diameter
d) Bullet weight
e) Bullet length

gelandangan, you will be fiddling with the two most critical aspect of bullet design with respect to accuracy. I too will find your results interesting. Don't keep us waiting too long.

Now Galand, to return to your initial question: I too find the Lyman Orange Crusher a good single stage press (but their lever to put primers breaks to easy and most of the time put pressure on the primer while the inside of the die is returning through the cartridge neck again, so I don't use that primer device anymore and use Lee handprimer instead).
I already use that press for more than 30 years, but I think I will never try to swage bullets with it, in my opinion it's simply not strong enough.

Look at workshop equipment. It gave me a nice, very strong handpress with a knee-joint which allows me to make higher pressures than anyone can believe + you cannot ruin such a press because it's built of steel. And because everybody nowedays want hydraulic presses in their workshops, you often can find them second hand for very low prices.

THANK YOU
Thats exactly what I have asked at the beginning of the topic.
(before we got side tracked onto multiple other side topics Confused )

I have a lee auto primer as recommended by Bushy a few years ago, it works really well.

Now Aloy,
I have not yet made any of the swaging dies, it would be useless unless I have strong enough press to use it on.
I wonder what if I swage only plain lead without jacket on it?
Surely the press is strong enough to handle bhn 5.5 lead?

It will be a shame if I broke the press trying to re invent wheels..

do you in your opinion think the Lyman is strong enough to swage 22 cal jackets out of 22lr cases?
