Doublejs, I think we all like to look down the barrel, sort of check the sites before we start send lead down range!!! It also kind of helps get settled to the bench and get a feel of things!! Smile

Hi Folks

Went to the range today and met up with a few blokes who had chrony's. "It'll work", they all said.

So we put it together, fresh battery, start screen is closest to me (duh!) and I pull the trigger. Nothing.

So I get home and decide to take the sensors/screens to bits. Nothing out of place, nothing broken. Put it back together and still nothing. Not even a little nothing - just a big one.

Is there a way of seeing if you can trip the screens or the display electronically or resetting the thing?

Oh - the bad news. I've had it about 4 years or so, so it is well out of warrenty!

Many thanks

Devon

well from someone who donno much about the things, i do know they work off of light and shadow, so if it was too bright directly into the sensors that could cause it.. (and did you make sure the firearm was loaded) hehehhe

Devon. Who made it? I have a Pact mod 1 and sent it back to Pact after 10 years of service. Got it back 2 weeks later fixed and it only cost me shipping one way...

Don't pay any attention to Morax...He's just looking for attention...We don't want to feed the animals. Now do we? Very Happy

Hi folks

The Chrony is made by CED and they have a sole importer in the Uk so it looks like I'll be taking it back to the shop.

Keep well

Get at least 15 feet away from it with the muzzle. use it when it is overcast with out the shades. when there is blue sky over head use the shades. Shoot so your bullet is about 4 to 6 inches above the sensors - the closer you are the smaller the window of sight is for the chronograph. Make sure you are shooting across the centers of both the sensors. Take some care in setting up and you will have better luck with it.
I usually set my rifle on the bench with sandbags and line it up as though I am going to shoot it. With the bolt out I then set the chrono up by positioning it in line with the bore of the gun and the target. (I have fixed sights on the boom that holds the sensors so I can aim it at the target and the gun. I don't have any problem.

Well would you believe it !?

I took it back to the shop and put it on the counter - left my wife with it and went to try on a pair of trousers that they had in a sale. By the time I got back it had been replaced with a brand new Milennium 2.

We got in the car and I asked how she did it. "Well the bloke said 'have you had it under a year?' and I replied 'a little bit longer than that' so he changed it for a brand new one!"

Top shop the Sportsmans Guncentre in Devon, England.

I am back on the ranges on Saturday so i'll let you know!

Keep well y'all
