Nice looking rifle.
Having match components and barrel will be sweet. Well worth waiting for. I've seen/shot one SA product and the fit/function was perfect. What barrel are you choosing, chrome-lined or not?
You can probably shoot this rifle at the DCRA nationals in Ottawa, in the service rifle category (open sights iirc). With your enthusiasm and discipline, if you enjoy match competition, you'd have a great time at the Connaught range. If I lived out east, I'd be there for sure as it's an open match.

I do not believe the barrel is chrome lined. When I burn out this barrel I'll be getting a Chrome Lined Barrel installed however.
Service Rifle is a VERY lose competition nowadays atleast, for one its not Service Rifle in Canada technically its Service Conditions but named otherwise, so Grand Dad's ol' bolt action rifle he used while hunting is technically ok to use.
Basically the rule on rifles and optics at this point in time is and I qoute:
"Any rifle with any sight and in any caliber that meets range regluations"
Which really only limits you on caliber if the range isn't allowed to shot those bigger rounds that some may want to use (50BMG, 338Laupa etc) on the range cause of insefficiant back stop etc. Only other restriction other then legal ones (like magazine capacities) is the trigger must have a 2.5Kg pull or more on semi-automatic rifles and a 1.5kg pull on bolt action rifles.
Which means I'm going to have to adjust my trigger UP to get it to the requirements for the match.
If you can tell I do want to do Service Rifle competitions with it and thats part of the reason I want it.

From a guy who pretty much paid for his wedding from his 401K(retirement fund), though I did get my G29 with the rest of it I took out, just because a gal isn't into hunting and the like doesn't mean she is not "the one" Cathy was not EVER AROUND firearms of any type and now she loves to shoot a little 9 shot Sentinel in .22LR that my dad gave to us, whenever she can. And you just might be surprised to find how little $3k will get you now-a-days! Her dress was somewhere between $1-2K US back in 1999. All custom made as she is not a size 2!
And that is the only way she could get her "dream" dress and I was not ready to argue, what with her giving me the "agree or death upon you and all your clan" look. HA HA HA!!! Then there was the BEER! Her mom tried to pay for a bar tab but it was gone in about an hour. The worst part was when her brother who was drunk beyond drunk and I am not a big fan of his in the first place. Was in the middle of the dance floor doing a Dan Akroyd on crack impersonation and trying to sing "you lost that loving feeling." NOT A GOOD SIGHT! But it was nice service even it was LONG - Missouri Synod Luthren, was a compromise. She wanted a Catholic serivce I said NO WAY! I am not a Catholic - no problem with anyone who is, just not my sect of Christianity. Anyway after eight LONG HARD years we are still here and still hollering at each other just like the first day we moved in together, HE HE HE!!! Yopu just never know. Good luck with the rifle it will be an INVESTMENT that you be proud of for many years to come.

Arron,
I have studied and went to a few different Christian sects churches, and let me tell you, I'm not about to cause a ruckus over the church she wants.
As for spending under 3,000$ for the wedding I'm sure its possible, just no fancy dress (I normally have a suit, except its too big now need to get another one still doesn't cost a thing for the wedding as its more then one time use unlike a wedding dress), Church, no limousine, no expensive paid Camara man, and have a BBQ dinner with just the family after the church.

If the mother in law doesn't agree I honestly don't care I'm not marrying her.
I must admit though, if I was serious enough with a girl to even THINK about getting married with her, the wedding plan can change to how ever the heck the future Mrs Big D. wants it to be. Cause she'd be pretty darn special to for me to even consider settling down with her and its really a day for her, myself I'm content with just signing the marriage papers and having no wedding party or anything its just another day in my books.
Although, the time waiting for the rifle wont really be spent buying much for it, cause I decided to buy 0-6" Depth micrometers, and those cost as much as the scope base.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it!!! HA HA! Spend the cash and get a good "cheeseman" (Camera)
You will be very happy you did. There are pictures in ours of family that are no longer with us, and that is about the only pictures we have of them.
And you are very correct in both ideas of who cares what MIL wants, yeap been there done that $200 dollar bar tab for a wedding gift that let "Some" folks have a "few" beers. I got ONE TOTAL!! And the tab was gone. HA HA HA!!!! Oh well I have never been drunk and do not plan on it any time soon. This was just one in a l - o - n - g series of confrontational episodes with Cathy's mom. Right now we have an un-easy peace and I TRY VERY HARD TO KEEP IT THAT WAY! But Cathy knows I will not start the fight but I WILL FINISH IT IF I NEED TO. Then she gives me that "death to you and the whole clan look again on the way home. It is just something that looses it's meaning over time HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! And I would have been happy with just showing up with some nice new "dressy" jeans and nice "cowboy" boots. Did have the boots though, my best man got mad at me, because he did not get to wear his. I told him I would wear shiney shoes when he got married if he wanted me too. He was OK with that. Anyway when you do find Mrs Right just make sure that she only cares about you and you alone and the same for you to her, the rest will most likely work itself out. Or the creditors will take everything and it really does not matter anymore. HE HE!!! I am off of this one now. Later

All jokes aside, it isn't a bad deal to let the girl have what she wants, most girls have been planning this day since they were very young. Regardless of anything else, find somebody who appreciates you for you and you do likewise. I am by no means an expert, but I am on my 15th year with a woman who is great to me, we knew from the very start.
Before we got married I asked her if she could accept 3 rules:
1) Never bug me about chewing tobacco
2) Always have a pitcher of "Kool-Aid" in the fridge
3) She does the laundry
with those 3 little rules she accepted, she never asked any of me and I have kept my promise to help with everything else.
Of course we have added to the rules over the years, and I might say the rules are leaning more in her favor than mine, but I still have my rifles and plenty of space to reload my ammo and she has even gotten better about pretending to be interested when I get a new Midway USA catalog.
Good luck on your ventures - you seem to have a pretty good head about you, I think you will manage quite well Dimitri.
Regards,
WW

Wiley,
I'll do the laundry if the girl I get with will do the dishes.

Another Ha Ha Ha
You'll do the laundry INCORRECTLY. (You can't wash a DENIM shirt with your BLUE JEANS), and she'll do the dishes TEMPORARILY.

Joe,
She can wash the dishes as she wants, and I'll wash the clothes how I want to.
