Bought a Chrony Gamma Master in June - just haven't had much time to use it.
Only complaint so far is the software - won't load onto my PC

I have had a Pact model 1 for the better part of twenty years. The only thing I ever did to it was make a battery pack for it after the internal battery failed. It replaced an aging Ohler and proved to be as accurate and less tempermental than the old girl was. Pact customer service was there when I needed them and I have only needed them once. I guess that means more than a good service department.

I have been busy Bushmaster. I am the director of a not for profit association that just completed two major events. After clearing the books and getting ready for next year's run We have been told that the national organization that we are working with is going to require all of those involved to go through a GEN (Group Exemption Number) process. That means that I will have to serve as president on that boad and put together all the paperwork that goes with the IRS changes. On top of that I am losing my treasurer - he is moving to Arizona so I have to find a replacement and get him or her elected. All this while putting in a new furnace, complete bathroom gut and remodel. My wife is talking about a kitchen remodel now too.
Thanksgiving and then Christmas with the whole family was wonderful but now that the holidays are over I just needed to get back and vist with my old buddies here.
Hey! I re-wired my garage/shop! I finally wired in a separate box and ran all the legs for the garage from it. I added 12 light fixtures and as many outlets plus finally ran my welder and compressor outlets. I can't use it because it is full of stuff for the bathroom remodel. I need a new 60 gallon compressor but that has been put on hold for now. I have to get that bathroom finished fast - at least to the point where it is usable again.
Other than that I built a C4 tranny for the wife's car in my spare time and got a friend interested in going to the range to do some shooting.

It works! (asking a busy man or woman)
What would be a good third chronograph you guys?
I have an Oheler and a Pact model 1. I am looking at a third but I don't want the electronics out in front of my muzzle. I haven't shot one yet and I don't want to start now.

I've only had two:
first was a CHRON TECH (I would not recommend)
second was a Chrony Beta Master (I would highly recommend)
I would also recommend researching all via yahoo, google, etc. prior to making purchase.
Hope it helps

If I could ask a dumb question... Why do you need three chronographs? Unless you lost the first two...

With 2 chronos you can calculate your BC with PointBlank. With 3 you can shoot the one nearest the target and not have to go home yet ...

Had a Shooting Chrony Delta Model for years. The multi-jointed skyscreens were prone to crack but you could get more. The multi-jointed rod female holes would wear out but you could fix them with a set of pliers and some patience. What I hated were the times when the damn thing got temperamental and wouldn't read. Got tired of "ERROR" messages and missed readings. The display was also hard to read at 15', had to get up from the bench and walk around trying to see (might be me just getting old )
So I bought a cheap Competition Electronics ProChrono

It is simple, does not have jointed skyscreens or legs, has a screen big enough to read from 15' away and hasn't missed a reading in 500 shots.

Crackshot...Didn't they (Oehler) go out of business? Or stop making them?

Yep, they quit makeing them(the 35P) Bushmaster ! Thats realy to bad to. They are darn good chronographs, And the main unit sets on the bench with you so you cant shoot the expensive part. Some parts are still available from them for the 35P though. And they still make the real expensive model.
