I figured that would be your answer Vince.
I was hoping that you would say yes, and I could tag along.
My dream, which will never happen, is to hunt New Zealand.
Just like you, when I win the Lotto, my plane tickets and extras will take me there.

Trophy Hunter...nah, but I don't pass up on a critter just cause it is or isn't a trophy...I'm just not interested in the trophy thats all.

Don't mistake my intended meaning of the word "trophy".....
This year was unique unto itself in that it was my boys first year with a Big Game Tag....
Have coached him since birth for this moment in his Life, and I can't say he let me down in any way, shape or form.
I expect great things are to come, from this one...................
The Boy's first kill, done right at 125 yards with his Rem 700 .243, 7X glass, and an 85 grain TSX.......a Trophy no doubt, to him, and me alike.
His second deer is in here somewhere, in that nice pile of Back Straps....207 yard shot at a 40 degree angle down off a ridge.
His third and final one for the Season, 250 yards, Picture Perfect.....

You are totally correct mate...a trophy doesn't have to be a 14x87 head.
The only "trophy" I have is the antlers off'n the first deer I shot, and they are the crappiest looking set of antlers you will ever encounter. They aren't anything special other than being my first ever deer. You can see in the second pic the part of the skull that I had to Araldite back together after the head shot that stopped him.
That is the only "trophy" that I intend keeping, and from then on all that matters to me is the quality of the meat.
Cheers, Vince

I used the antlers that I saved off my very first buck to make a knifehandle and guard. I'll try to get a pic of it and post it

Hey now Ely, my love life is just fine thank you very much. I was talking about me when I'm out hunting, seeing I'm also a armed hiker in the bush most of the time as well.
