Let me see if I can run it down....

1) Wrong scope height. I used the default, and forgot that I was using the, "high," mod of the rings. D'oh! (_8(|) I added another half-inch. (That maybe too much, but what the heck - it's all approximations untill I get everythiing set up anyhow.)
2) Wrong ballistic coefficient. I was using the BE for a different round on the table: A simple case of needing to be more intelligent than the equipment I was working with.
3) Wrong bullet weight. See #2 above. Same etiology.
4) Wrong velocity. See #2 above. Same etiology.

Operator error. All operator error.

I hit the software before I had my li'l duckies all lined up, just to learn how to enter the data and to see what I needed more than anything, but when the results looked reasonable, I made that leap to, "holy smokes: I'm a GENIUS," just... just WAAAAAY too fast.

The edited values are lots closer to correct, but I still have work to do on building a table of possible ammo and running some chronographed verification shoots.

That's going to have to wait a bit. The next things on the schedule are breaking in the barrel and finalizing the scoping.

Once I feel confident that I can hit the berm instead of the chronograph, I'll do some velocity testing.

My rifles are all unique and they all get zeroed accordingly. All my rifles are hunting rifles (prairie dogs to elk) and each one gets zeroed for Maximum Point Blank Range for a 6” target/kill zone.

Coincidentally and conveniently, that means my Marlin leverguns in .30-30, .375Win and .45-70 get sighted in very close to 3.0” high at 100 yards, although MPBR varies by up to 20 yards or so. The bolt guns vary, but once I have a hunting load developed I calculate MPBR and note the displacement at 100 yards, then sight in accordingly next time I am at the range.

My handguns vary depending on application. The Kimber .45 is zeroed for close range defensive work while the Super Redhawk .44 Mag has both the iron sights and scope zeroed at 100 yards.
