It seems a few people here pretty much live at the range. How many rounds on average do you fire in a year? I dont shoot near what I used to and think I only fire around 150-200 rounds a year lately (excluding .22's and shotshells). Just dont have the time anymore sadly.
What about you guys?

CF Rifle @ 750 - 1000, this year I'll go over 1500.
Muzzle Loading @ 4 lbs of FFF & FF combined this past year and 80 Pyrodex 60gr Pellets in my .54 / thats 40 shots.
in .22 LR I went through 5 Federal 550 packs last year.

Last year.....550 centerfire.......lost count on 22's ( over 1000)
This year (spring hasn't arrived here yet) 0 centerfire.....200 22's (couldn't stand it any more, had to try out my new Chroney). I expect that this year my centerfire will top 1000 and 22's will be about the same.

As I can only shoot in South Africa on holiday every year (other than clay shooting), all my shooting is done within three weeks. I usually manage five days on target shooting and get through around 2000 rounds of 9mm, 500 .22rf, 100 .303, 100 12 gauge solid slugs and a box or two of 000 buckshot. At home, I get through around 7000 12 gauge shotgun rounds in a year and my other half (better half, I am ordered to say) uses around 3000 shotshells also - we shoot most Saturdays and it's easier to take her than explain why she can't go. Also, it's cheaper than sending her shopping instead! Roll on October/November, I'm AWAAAYY again!!!!!!!!

Wow, this takes some figuring doesn't it? I spend one full day a week at the range and can use it about 6 months of the year. On average I'll shoot off about 120 total rounds a trip from 5 or 6 rifles so 120 times the number of weeks (26) comes out to about 3100 rounds a year. Toss in another 100 or so hunting and we come out with 3200. Actually it's a few hundred rounds less because there are weeks when I can't make the trip.
Gosh, I didn't realize I used up so many components. It comes out to about $600. a year in bullets alone to say nothing of primers and powder. No wonder I'm often broke. Best wishes.

Well I dont shoot nearly as much as I would like due to College classes, and working full time. That will all change in a couple more years .
I shoot about 200 centerfire a year, and at least 1000 .22's.
The one centerfire I would like to shoot more is the 300 Ultra Mag. I dont have reloading equipment right now so I cant reload. And it costs about 45-50 bucks for a box of 20 so its just to expensive.

Dallan! I took >60 rounds to the range each time I sighted in a gun (7-30W 1x and the 7mm-08 3x).
200rds isn't even a good afternoon with a pistol (or 22).
Of course I live across the street from a crappy range. Only has a 1000yd range, skeet & trap course, field archery, IPSC pits, indoor bullseye pistol, outdoor rifle BR, and plinking ranges. First Saturday here the wife comes in and wakes me - DID YOU HERE THAT? me: here what? THAT - there is a lot of gunfire here! me: really? Hmm, could it be the shooting range across the street's Sat AM trap match?
She weren't too happy with me.

I have lost count. The National Match Course is 50 rounds and we shoot nine per year so that's 450 .30-06 rounds plus sighters and practice rounds push the number higher. Then there are varmint rifles and deer rifles to work with and that total is unknown. Finally, I shoot muzzleloaders at least twice a month. It is easier to say I shoot every other weekend. All the best...

We all feel so sorry for you have to "settle" for such a crappy range. How DO you stand it? Man, I'd have to drive 200 miles to find a range with 1/2 of those features. I have to make do with my wood lot range (100 yards ---200 if I trim and prune the brush every year). If I lived where you are, I'd be over there all the time. I would love to try some longer range shooting. Up here, the only way to find an open stretch that long would be a power line, and then the hilly terrain would get in the way.

Let's see.
Two afternoon squirrel shoots in Feb & March
100 rds 223
Squirrel trip in march:
17AH (pistol) 100 rds
223 100 rds
Squirrel trip in April
17 AH (pistol) 100 rds
22 Hornet 60 rds
223 XP-100 30 rds
223 Model 700 100 rds
PD trip in May
17 AH (pistol) 200 rds
17 AH (rifle) 30 rds
223 Model 700 200 rds
223 XP-100 30 rds
204 Ruger (rifle) 200 rds
Total 1450 rds centerfire.
Don't get much range time. Probably shot about 100 rds at the range.
That's current for this year. Maybe another expedition in October. If I'm lucky I might get to 2500 rds for the year. Dang, I've gotta get that Rock Chucker pumpin.

The rent here is terrible. You'd have to look for a couple of days to find a 1br utilities included apartment for less than $500 a month.
Oh, and the range membership is outlandish - $100 a year.
Only about 4 of the top 5 striper lakes in the world are less than 1.5 hours (towing a boat) away. The world record smallmouth was caught about 2hrs from here. The ave walleye from the best local lake is down to about 2lbs. Hard to catch more than 20-30 crappie in a day when they are bitting. Only 2 of the top 100 trout rivers/streams in the US are here. Unless you are lucky enough to have access to one of the 25 L counties one can only kill about 30 deer a year without getting a quota hunt.
Generally, it's a bad place to live if you like outdoor activities.
Ask coyotehunter, he'll tell ya.

Yep, what grimel said... and there ain't any coyotes here either!
I don't shoot as much as I used to but if I decide to crank off a few rounds I only need to go as far as my back yard.
Most of my target shooting and varmint hunting is done with small bore centerfire. With the .224's, I go through 1,500 or so projectiles yearly. Between the 243's, 30's, 270 and 8mm add another 5-600. That's not counting the shotguns, 22 Mags and various pistols.
