Vince, when one starts building 600+ HP engines they'll all expensive mate !!!
The nice thing about a diesels is you can build one at 1000 HP and it still be completely streetable.
I know of a few 700 to 850 HP trucks that are daily drivers. Love watching them guys blow the doors off the Camaros and Mustangs.

Gotta say the numbers do look good on the 6.4 !!!
I would be leery of the mpg figures being tossed around, especially when towing is evolved. It's not always about the weight, the drag plays a huge role. I've pulled a number of so called "lite weights" that gave nearly the same mpg as larger heavier units.
Another thing to look at dealing with mpg is the type of tires put on at the factory these days. Most trucks come with street tread to help obtain the published data. Last truck I had lost just over 2mpg when I put a set of real tires on it.
Don't go by the computer for your mpg until you confirm it's worth with a hand calculation to prove it. I've seen them off as much as 5.5mpg. |
The only thing I trust is facts and evidense. Going tho look at one more tomorrow and then it is time to see which of three I am going after.

True enough mate. Maybe I'm a little biased, but I've never really thought of diesels as performance engines, even high HP engines. Seems like I stand corrected mate.
(PS diesels are still the best towing engine-more
torque )

Well Saturday was a bust. the dealer that I have bought 6 vehicles from didn't wasnt to play lets make a deal. I was searching the ineter webs and found a couple that interested me so Monday I went for a drive to look at two more. I never got to the second dealer!
As soon as I pulled into the lot I knew it was the truck I wanted, It was sitting by itself so I could get a good look at it. I ended up with a 2015 Ram 2500 HD Crew Cab Long Box with the 6.4 Liter Hemi. It is a beast to puit it mildly. I really like this truck It has Ram's factory Fifth Wheel/ Gooseneck prep kit installed in it. I did not anticipate bringing a truck home last night but they were hungry enough for a sale that the sales lady is driving an hour and a half to have my wife sign her portion of the documents since she wasn't with.
It was a two hour drive home so I had plenty of time to get acquainted with the beast. the ride is a lot better than I expected. It will take some getting used to but I am pretty sure I will be more than Happy.

We sure do Slim...and they are a highly thought of vehicle too mate. I have a mate in Sydney who has two of them (as well as two TA Challengers).
Here's an advert for a 2008 model for sale...note the price and mileage.

Mate here in Oz we paid almost double of everything.
From cars, clothing to ammo, projectile, gunpowder etc
Housing is even worse, in Sydney for instance, average house cost at least $750 000
