If they were available I would buy a Savage 16FSS in 325WSM or in the new 338 Federal. I already have a Swift Premium 4-12X40 and Leupold base and rings waiting.

cjp45,
There may be some good news. According to the Savage Reps. at the recent Shot Show, Savage will be coming out with rifles chambered for the .325WSM. They wouldn't commit to a date, but did say it's in the works.
Is that Swift scope new, or have you used it before? I just mounted a Swift 6-18x44 on a Savage 12FV-S, but haven't gotten to shoot it yet.

I bought a second Savage 12 FLV in .223. I'm replacing the barrel with a stinless in .220 Swift. It's a Savage varmit barrel with a 12 to 1 twist. That will give me two left handed varmit wackers with the Accutrigger. The .223 will be for 300 yards and less and the Swift for anything over that.

Shocked Cool Well I broke away from my Savage tradition, went into th elocal Pawn Shop and there was a brand new Ruger 77MKII Ultra Lite in .308, Stainless with laminated stock. Price tag new out the door was $375 plus he gave me 2 boxes of Hornady 165gr ammo. Always wanted one of these and it just called out to me so I took it home. Now to see how it shoots. Cool Cool Cool

I am hoping to find a good deal on a Marlin 336 in the 35 remington cartridge at the gun show this coming weekend.

Decided to build another 6MM Rem. for coyote hunting. My all time favorite caliber. Even got the wife's Ok. That was the hardest part.
Gave the last one to my son. Didn't think I would miss it that much.
I was wrong. Hope to have it operational for next winters hunts.--tr Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I was in the safe earlier & the wife saw there wasn't anymore room in it. I told her I was making room for my next purchase. She said I had all the room I needed. Said I'd have to sell one before I can have aother. Why don't women understand? I just have to have one more!!!

George20042007 Do what i do. Never spend any change you get from a purchace. Save it put it in a jar and when you get up enough for what you want buy it. might take awhile betewwn guns. but hey if you want it bad enough you'll wait! And it takes most any argument away from your wife cause you just saved change up ( at least it works for me) Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hey Guys
Wife said that I can only shoot one at a time - so I told her that I will only buy them one at a time - scored points on that statement!!!!
Will be adding a Remington 798 in 375 h&h as soon as they come out! Will rechamber to 375 Rem ultra mag - that will be my #1 Alaska gun. Have been using the Remington 700 338 Ultra Mag but can get better sectional density bullets in .375!
Heck after a year or two she will forget all about this gun.

Pete

Thanks 7mmREMMAG...I have a change jar that gets an input atleast once a day. It's half full now, so, that's about $200.00. Let's see, it took about 1.5 years to get that...nope, won't due, want it now. I want a Weatherby Vanguard from Walmart in 300 Weatherby. When I was there today, I noticed the price increased. I'm loosing ground.

Heck, I'll work it out!
