|
Today I was down at Bel Aire Pawn on south Broadway in st. Louis with my daughter to get her her first electric guitar. Im moving her up to an electric after 1 year on an acoustic. Anyway, while checking out I spotted a Winchester 97 in pretty good shape. I have a couple myself so I know what they look like. While I was looking at it, I spotted another, almost the first ones twin sitting just 3 shotguns away in the same rack. They are asking $497 for each , which from what Ives seen is around 2 to 300 less than the lower priced ones out there. And as a pawn shop, they are very negotiable. They dropped $55 off a 2 year old $250 Schecter Blackjack guitar in pristine shape, a $580 guitar normally. So they will deal without much effort.
So if anyone is interested, they have 2 of them there and I could get more info, like numbers and photos and more.

Good find. Those old guns are darned near indestructible. Just a little noisy to work the slide. My uncle used to say he could tell someone using a '97 two fields away just from the sound of the slide. Of course he just might have been exaggerating...

I always thought pawn shops paid less cause the people selling were desperate for the money. I agree, a spammer.
