Have you seen the new Remington yet? Hum, looks a lot like a Mauser Mark X action to me.

I also understand (word from a barrel manufacturer) that Remington has just put Charles Daily out of the rifle business by purchasing the entire production of the supplier of the Charles Daily actions (Mauser Mark X).

Anyone else seen anything or heard anything?
Ed

Swampfox,

Yes the rifles are simply the ones that Charles Daly has been importing from Zastava (in Serbia). Smile

I agree with Dimitri. These rifles were cheaper when Charles Daly sold them. Remington did a few cosmetic changes and raised the prices. All the best...

Conceeding that the Mauser 98 is a superb action, the new Remington Mausers are a tad on the crude side. This is disappointing, given the availability of better tolerances and finishing with today's machining. The Zastava 98 is somewhat sloppy in the bolt raceways and desperately needs some polishing of the rails. This based on three examples that I have examined.
