Ya longwalker forgot the pict... I was guessing about some HIGHLY amusing movies on the net from... oh I think it was around summer 2000, that had some guys shooting a .577 Tyrranasaur. They are funny because the rifles would go flying out of most of their hands, others got knocked on their butts etc etc. I'll see if I can dig'em up.

I still wanna see longwalkers thing though...

Sorry guys I can't seem to get the "video" to attach. The video shows a man shooting what looks like a Super Redhawk. His does not have a firm grip and upon releasing the hammer the gun does a series of back flips over his head.

The 500 Smith & Wesson doesn't have much on that thing! I would not want to shoot it.

I thought i was pushing my limits with a 510gr and a 725gr bullet pushing around 1700fps and 1200fps with an estimated MV 3271 and 2223, but i think that monster has to be pushing 10K! Shocked

While i only listed the 510 and 725 grain rounds, i have shot everything practically in between with a 350gr at the low end, and the obvious 725 grain being the heaviest. However, i feel (and some may have different opinions) the 510 and 725 grain WFNGC are among the most brutal (but still tolerable) rounds in a production 500 S&W revolver, but still without the inherent 'crack' from a Casull.
Just 2 cents Smile

Anything over .458 is too much rifle. Anything over 454 is too much handgun.

Just a poor boys opine. That Nitro revolver isn't really real is it? Surely not.

(the S&W 460 would make a nice rifle round since it is a .458

Recently i've had the chance to shoot a 454 Casull in different makes (S/A and D/A) and while able to shoot it one handed, it cracks harder than a 500 S&W within a 375 grain spread any day. What just got me is the abrupt recoil, and even with a heavy 500 that would recoil much more, it just seemed to me that the 454 was harder to tame and control over the 500 S&W as well as many other bigger bored revolvers i've owned and shot.

And yep, the Nitro is real Cool
