Have just finished a OCW test run for finding the optimun charge weight for my rifle caliber, and bullet weight. After wasting mucho materials on other methods for fine tunning a load for accuracy, and not finding it, I have finaly done it in 21 rounds. The OCW method works and I am going to use it for the rest of my guns. IF you want to quit spinnen your wheels and stop waisting powder, bullets, primers and barrels do yourself a favor and do a OCW run and you will quickly find your load, you can fine tune later for COAL. Take your time and let your barrel cool between shots. OCW can be done at a 100 yard range just as well as a 200 yard range, but I like 200 yards.

Eagle-snester needs to turn his stump around towards the audience and allow for questions. Bring that coffee table too so's you can rest your beer arm. Well....you can put your beer down a second if you want to, tables are good for that. Getcher feet off that!! I have a link for you Do-nutslayer and it's a very interesting but simple, easy to do process that I would recommend also. HERE YA GO the site also has some recipes on there and I've tried a couple but they don't work for me.

There is some info on OCW on this site too, under articles. I've used it and it worked well for me.

Pumpkin!! That's probably where I got it from, and prob. where Eaglesnester got it....I wasn't thinkin....

Anyway it's kinda fun to do and I have to say you absolutely have to bench rest and try your very best or you'll never see the nuances of each pattern. A problem I had with it was that I didn't go to a shooting range to try it out. I went to the woods and set up, and I wasn't very level, but all came out well in the end. You could do it all on one 8.5x11 sheet of paper but I set up with seperate targets. Prob. better to use one and label the separate areas.

All over it boss. Cool
Monday I'm shooting the rest of my factory ammo (sans a few for foulers) for the brass then starting load devolpment fer El Kabong. Posed to be really windy too so...glad I'm just using up the factory stuff. Problem at my spot is the canyon gusts, swirls and fishtails BAD once it gets over 15mph. See-through caps are a good thing! Glad there's lots of gongs as paper is literally ripped from the frames when it "does it's thing". Laughing
