That would be me too......what's the question....what's the answer? OH I'm no varmint hunter tho.....my people gave that up when we started gettin casino money. Sorry, I wouldn't tell you where to find a coyote anyway, they're my buds, and the rabbits are their food so.....well I would like a coyote pelt tho...I wouldn't shoot one, but if one were to be shot, I'd give it a good home....some people don't see the beauty of a coyote.

Coyotes are beautiful animals, all right. The problem is that out here they have no predators, though - except for hunters. They have decimated the rabbit, woodchuck and grouse populations. In thickly settled areas they have added house cats and smaller dogs to their dinner menu. Poor buggers are starving and need to be thinned out. A friend of mine in NW Connecticut found pieces of his cat eaten right in his horse barn. It is rare to see a rabbit or woodchuck around here anymore.

I hear ya Suz, It is like one of the last "wild" critters and each one has a place, The problem is people have swung the pendelum out of balance and now like marty says we have to artificially return a check. But it is cool to see them lope in the distance. Or all out gettin it when they are threatened. It is a reminder of the way it used to be. The beauty of deer and other animals is similiar but the coyote and fox and to some extent the racoon have a different feel to them. Sorry I crowded in I am not from Oregon either but I do have an appreciation for your Myrtle wood.

When I'm right there used to be lots of indians too, but some people have decimated them, so... what was the question? Smile

We don't have yotes (nor do we need them). We already have lots of problems with foxes, but I don't blame the foxes, I blame the stupid lawmakers who don't allow us to hunt foxes at night nor in their holes (we have to keep 50 m distance, so no grounddoggies) and from tomorow 15th February till September season is closed on them...
And 'they' still don't understand that when 'they' make it so difficult to hunt and shoot foxes, people use other stuff to fight them... and poison is less accurate than a well-placed bullet.

Heyn robd I am familiar with your neck of the woods. My grandfather lived in Newport for many years so I spent a lot of time on the coast. I sure do miss it over there and him. Anyhow what do you hunt over there? I see you like fishin to. I would love to hit the ocean this year and do some fishin.
