Folks,
I encountered an elderly fellow at work who told me he was glad I liked guns. Said he has some muskets that belonged to his wife's mother who passed away at age 94. These guns were family heirlooms that belonged to his forefathers. He wanted to know if I was interested. I was. Am now impatiently awaiting the arrival of this cache of firearms. The price is most reasonable. All the best...

I received the pile of guns from the old gentleman. There were six of them and all needed a very good cleaning. The best is Winchester Model 12 in 20 gauge modified and has a solid rib. It is from the 1930s and has real cut checkering and only some minor bluing wear. There were two single barrel 12 gauge shotguns made by H&R and Iver Johnson. Mixed in the lot was a.22 caliber Stevens Model 56 bolt action rifle with a missing magazine. The last were a .58 caliber Civil War rifle made by Wm Mason in Tauten, MA dated 1863 and a 20 gauge shotgun conversion dated 1864. These last ones are not shootable. All the best...

Folks,
I swear the following is a true and accurate account of the events and I can't make this stuff up.
I was working at my desk yesterday when I got a call from a widow lady who said her home was broken into and she feared the culprits (who were run off empty-handed) probably wanted her late husband's guns. I was going to suggest loading one of the guns in case the culprits returned. She wanted the guns out of her house that day. I offered to drive to her home and pick them up. She offered to deliver the guns to my workplace and I agreed . About two hours later she showed up with a trunk full of guns and several copy paper boxes of ammo. I quickly loaded the cache into my Trailblazer and thanked her for wrapping the guns in blankets. She told me to use the blankets to transport the guns.
The lady said she had called two local guns shops about disposing of these guns and neither returned her call. She just wanted to get rid of the guns and hugged me repeatedly in gratitude. I looked her over and she was attractive and she continued to hug me. Seems I was the most hugged guy in Berks County.
Once home, I looked over the pile of her late husband's sporting arms. They were in mint condition and included a Remington 700 ADL .30-06 with a Bausch & Lomb 2 1/2X8 scope, an Ithaca Model 37 16 gauge, a Remington 552 semi-auto .22 rifle, a Glenfield .22 rifle, an H&R 20 gauge single barrel shotgun and a pre-'65 Winchester 94 .30/30. Finally an RWS air rifle NIB and a Red Ryder BB gun. Unbelievable.
I called the lady today and thanked her for her significant act of kindness and told her I was going to pay her for the guns when Uncle Sam sent my tax refund check. Her response floored me. She said she was thrilled to see me and really appreciated the hugs. I asked her to repeat what she just said and she replied it was the hugs. Well, I asked her out to dinner and she accepted. To be continued... All the best...

Dimitri,
I am the chief procurement officer for a large group of nursing homes with locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. Been in purchasing in hospitals and nursing homes since 1978 and have met hundreds of sales representatives and my peers from across the country. These folks know that I like guns, dogs, beer, women and college football.
The lady that called me is a retired salesperson that I met some years ago. Haven't seen her for years and did not even recognize her name. Ironically, she lives about a mile from a gun shop where I used to work part-time. The guns involved may have come from that gun shop and I may have sold them to her late husband back in the late 1970s. That was one of the gun shops she called about disposing of these guns that did not respond to her inquiry.
All the best...
Gil

Gidday Gil,
We have a term here in Australia for someone who has the sort of luck you have experienced:
"Kissed on the @%&# by a fairy".
Mate, you have to be one of the luckiest buggers I have encountered. Congratulations. Enjoy test firing your new acquisitions....all of them.
Cheers, Vince
