It doesn't do those of us who don't use a kindle any good.
It may be a marketing ploy to sell their Kindles but if you already have one then go for it.
I get my E-books from the free book lists and just use my computer to read them.

For anyone who does not own a kindle, go to the page Geland posted above and look on the right side of the page and you'll see "Available for PC", if people are running windows they can use this option if they don't have a kindle as it installs a small reader to read most kindle books. There are other options available for different platforms including a "cloud reader" that works with firefox and chrome web browsers. Below is a link to the options.

I'll just go to the library or get it off the truely free book sites.
